Tinwhistle :哨笛、又叫錫口笛。好吹.好學.易攜帶.音色空靈清澈。
 
哨笛的得名是因為它的發聲是靠頂部的哨嘴，以及高音哨笛的音色很像口哨。
在以前，愛爾蘭很多街頭藝人都使用哨笛演奏以得到幾個便士，故而哨笛又被稱作一便士哨笛。
 
大家在一些音樂中最經常聽到的哨笛，如愛爾蘭/居爾特專輯，電影《鐵達尼號》主題曲《My Heart Will Go On》的前奏等等。居爾特樂手幾乎人人會吹哨笛，哨笛在他們的文化里就和口琴一樣簡單的樂器，特別是從事管樂器（木笛、風笛、長笛）的樂手，都是從哨笛起步的。
